2027 Summer Intern: Database Engineer I

Spectrum (Charter Communications) 2027 Summer Internship Program. This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship running May 26 – August 6, 2027. Interns spend about 80% of the summer on department and team projects and about 20% on program experiences, including a kickoff conference, professional development sessions, networking, mentorship, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects and final presentations.

Rotate through database teams supporting enterprise environments on-premises and in the cloud. Assist DBA teams with Oracle, SQL Server and NoSQL tuning, capacity review, troubleshooting and provisioning; support patching, upgrades, migrations and decommissioning; take part in security, vulnerability management and PCI/SOX audit support; and gain experience with AWS Redshift, data warehousing, analytics and automation.

Majors: Information Technology.

Required: Rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028; currently enrolled at an accredited college or university; GPA of 3.0 or higher; able to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events during the program; authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred: Basic understanding of computers, data and technology; introductory SQL, Python or another scripting language; Microsoft Office; strong problem-solving and attention to detail; collaborative and adaptable.
