Iridium Communications operates the world's only truly global satellite voice and data network, using a constellation of low-Earth-orbit satellites to provide connectivity anywhere on Earth for government, maritime, aviation, enterprise and Internet of Things customers. Aireon, the space-based air traffic surveillance system, is now part of Iridium. The company is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, with major operations in Tempe and Chandler, Arizona, and Leesburg, Virginia. Its paid 11-week summer internship program places students in teams such as Systems & Mission Operations, working on real satellite and ground-system projects.

The Iridium Internship Program gives students the chance to support the teams driving the future of satellite communications. Interns in Systems & Mission Operations get hands-on experience with satellite mission planning, ground and space system operations, and engineering projects that support real-time operations, working alongside engineers, operations staff and leadership. The program runs 11 weeks, from May 18 to July 30, 2027, and pays $31 per hour.
